A5 Lately I've been thinking about the ways that "making somebody else's job easier" is its own set of skills. I'm still percolating on this, but working theory is that if these skills were valued and supported by larger community, it might ease a few conflicts? #librev

Q4. Honestly? I don't mind teaching one-shots online. It has its challenges but I've become really comfortable with the rhythm. Also me and a colleague have created a pre/post survey, with responses that have been illuminating as well as really encouraging as an educator #librev

I need a change to my tasks that will keep me engaged until we can do in-person programming again. Virtual isn't doing it and our stats are terrible. I put a lot of work into videos that no one watches. #LibRev
I need them to know that they might only be in there for 30 minutes, and maybe not wearing their masks correctly might not affect them, but I'm there 8-9 hours and am being exposed to a lot of people and it could get me sick. #LibRev

A2. Doing much better than I was. Lately I've been trying not to romanticize the first few months of the pandemic bc they felt calmer but I was incredibly lonely. WFH 4 1/2 days a week, working the library reference desk Wednesday mornings. #librev
this culminated in the announcement of impending layoffs and it just felt like the ultimate kick while you're down. It's not that there's zero rationale for it--but tossing out yet another thing for ppl to be uncertain about has been devastating for many of us. 2/2 #LibRev
