You really need to ask yourself what you’re looking for in a firm so that you’re making properly tailored applications and not throwing 100s of general applications out. You should have more success if you know the firms properly and why you’re applying to them #LPCForum

It’s been a very long day in Manchester at @JuniorLawyers #LPCForum but it’s so great to meet our members and know that these events really help and support junior lawyers!
Sometimes the margins are very slim on applications because there are so many good candidates so a rejection does not mean you are not a good candidate #LPCForum
How do you pick yourself up from rejections? There are 25,000 law students and 2500 training contracts so rejection is inevitable but you only need one application to stick #LPCForum
Try and find ways to add value to the team you are in - something as simple as helping someone who is not IT savvy with the IT can make you stand out #LPCForum
If you find a firm where you are embedded in the culture it makes it so much easier to do the job #LPCForum
First impressions are very important so do the work delegated to you with a positive attitude #LPCForum
Be humble about the work that you receive and be prepared to muck in and do what you need to do as a team #LPCForum
Don’t write off roles that are not training contracts because it can get your foot in the door and lead to a training contract #LPCForum
