We are glad to see the #LVRPA has restarted these ranger walks after a long absence. We have been discussing their engagement with the community, or lack ot it, with them for a couple of months and have just asked an Environmental Information Request about their #GreenFlag award
Our Rangers are doing a drop-in session on 1 September at Walthamstow Marshes! Come and discover more about your local green space https://t.co/GG68nwVtwP
Plainly @LeeValleyPark always intended to make the #OxbowIsland a visitor drop in point to match the @LeeValleyIce development. All their talk about protecting it was so much hog wash. Never believe anything the #LVRPA says
Absolute devastation on #Oxbow island courtesy of @LeeValleyPark and @LeeValleyIce.
This poor swan; fenced off from its habitat and surrounded by plastic fencing, as men fell the trees all aroundπ’

The #LVRPA prevented the Manor Gardens Allotments returning to the Olympic Park after their eviction for #London2012. Shame on you @ucl and @UCLEast
We also made another EIR for an update on @UCL's plans to develop sports facilities and a hotel along with the #LVRPA on MOL at #EtonManor. After failing to respond in time and a complaint to the ICO they refused to provide further information on the grounds of confidentiality.
Regarding the leak at the Waterworks, below, @thameswater say "there were no Thames Water assets or abandoned water mains in the vicinity of the leak" This leak is on @LeeValleyPark land. It has been there for years. As far as we are aware the #LVRPA has done nothing about it!
@thameswater @MayorofLondon @LDN_gov @CitytoSea_ @Thames21 How much would be saved if you fixed the THREE leaks in our area (this one been there approaching 2 years) we wonder?
@Ldybird246 @hackneywick There was and is room at Eton Manor. But guess what? @LeeValleyPark wants to build a hotel on the site they could have used for the Ice Centre. It was one of three sites the #LVRPA considered. If used it would have been connected by a bus route to the busiest station in the UK
@LeeValleyPark has to take its share of the blame for the abominable decision by @wfcouncil to approve the Lea Bridge Station development. The #LVRPA failed to register an objection to the harm it knows and has stated in internal documents this development will do to the Marshes
The @UCL @LeeValleyPark 'Master'Plan (apparently discussed with @wfcouncil) includes #LVRPA plan to build a hotel on the former #Wilderness sports field which is also public Metropolitan Open Land at #EtonManor
#EtonManor sports ground at the #Wilderness was created for local people by philanthropists, see images. We gather @UCL and @LeeValleyPark are now also talking to @wfcouncil about this 'master'plan - and no doubt to @LondonLegacy! No community input to these plans
@LundunFeeldz @LeeValleyPark @NewhamLondon @rokhsanafiaz @wearethefair Not that we are aware of. Neither @LeeValleyPark (#LVRPA) nor @wearethefair seem to take any responsibility for this mess. Just like they didn't take any action about the way the fencing was 'taken down'
@LeeValleyPark were allotments landlords before #London2012 and had taken over Eton Manor but were determined to dump them! Now #LVRPA, supposed βprotectorsβ of East Londonβs #GreenLung, are teaming up with elite university @ucl - preferring a hotel to green allotments! #Legacy!
Remember the #LVRPA also plans more and bigger events at both this site, Three Mills Green, AND at the Waterworks. They plan to build in more infrastructure to enable this to happen.
Remember #LVRPA were warned by staff this would happen - "Existing grass is quite sparse and thin, and is exposed to heavy trampling, wet conditions etc. Also takes longer to recover after the annual music event. DH Not convinced, will get damaged again with more music events"
Looking ahead to the end of the growing season and autumn rain and winter frost! An open space lost to the local community so the #LVRPA could earn a bit of dosh through an event which closed this space for much of the summer!
What's going on at @LeeValleyPark #LeeValleyRidingCentre @SaveLeaMarshes ? Why are #LVRPA @LeeValleyPark drilling in to tree roots?
@LeeValleyPark wants to expand events at the Waterworks as well
"Site improvements for events Waterworks Additional improvements to the infrastructure of the site, will support potential income increases for event hires." #LVRPA Landscape doc
The present state of @LeeValleyPark's #ThreeMillsGreen following the recent music festival! At least the gulls are enjoying it
Not that the #LVRPA didn't know this would happen! "Existing grass is quite sparse and thin, and is
exposed to heavy trampling, wet conditions etc.
Also takes longer to recover after the annual
music event. DH Not convinced, will get damaged
again with more music events"
@SaveLeaMarshes Having made a foolish decision to put @LeeValleyIce at #LeytonMarsh rather than the much more sensible Eton Manor where the #LVRPA want to build an absurd hotel(!) @wfcouncil and @LeeValleyPark find themselves having to double down on this foolishness
People using open spaces are more vulnerable to dust than those in buildings where windows can be closed. Dust may well be blown considerable distances and other spaces like the Waterworks may well be affected The #LVRPA hotline for problems is 0800 093 1716 @SaveLeaMarshes
@LeeValleyIce It is unclear what dust monitors are in place.
The #LVRPA hasnβt provided details of dust suppression, i.e. sprays, during the demolition.
We are meeting with them regularly regarding demolition and construction so please pass on any concerns to us.
