Karin Heegan Rockshelter is situated in Sanaag, #Somaliland. Paintings depicting long-horned bovids (goats, cattle), human figure holding a sword-like implement, & isolated bow & arrow.
It dates similarly to those of #LasGeel.

#LasGeel is an extraordinary place in #Somaliland. It is a big area and has several sets of cave paintings dating from 18,000 to 20,000 years ago! Nearly all of it is perfectly preserved. Just amazing.

The name of the caves (Laas Geel) comes from the name of the massif and rock of the same name which means “The dromedaries waterhole” in the Somali language. It's the most popular place to visit in Somaliland is Las Geel and dating back to between 3,000 BC and 9,000 BC.
