"Mellitos oculos tuos, Iuventi,
siquis me sinat usque basiare,
usque ad milia basiem trecenta,
nec mi umquam videar satur futurus,
non si densior aridis aristis
sit nostrae seges osculationis."
Catullus 48
Translation:
'Juventius, your honeyed eyes -
Were I allowed to keep on kissing them -
I would kiss 300,000 times,
Nor do I think that I would ever have enough,
Not even if the yield of our kissing were
More weighty than that of the the ripe corn.'
The Image is the Townley bust of #Antinous as Dionysus - found on the Janiculine Hill in Rome: ca. AD 130-140 (British Museum 1805,0703.97). #KissDay #KissingDay
