Lava is almost here; I wanted to reflect on our plan for Mainnet after 2+ years of work. From infrastructure to real apps Crypto has a shiny object problem. Whether it's the next incrementally better L1, or niche debates about economic security, attention shifts quickly to the next narrative. The reality is, most projects have little utility or are too early. We are building for the shadows of those who have long ago left our industry, chased away not just by the major hacks that have destroyed many livelihoods - but also by the esotericism of our language and our cult-like focus on technology rather than benefit. There's a reason we started with RPC. If you believe in blockchains, you believe in RPC. Every time you swap, stake, mint or deploy a smart contract, you are making an RPC request. Without it, basic interactions wouldn't be possible. Rather than peddle the next blockchain-powered vapourware, our vision is to grow the pie. Our vision is to accelerate blockchain adoption and innovation, so we can finally stop talking about infrastructure and START USING REAL, ACTUAL APPS. We've now reached over 42+billion requests on Lava testnet and hundreds of node runners have joined to serve RPC for 30+ networks. Each of these requests represent a user coming onchain for the first time or a developer deploying a smart contract for what could be the n̶e̶x̶t̶ killer dapp (wen). RPC is by no means solved - we invite researchers to contribute to the protocol (you'll work closely with our CTO @theinterestedr1). There are streams open for improving data consistency, scalability, uptime and latency. Each contribution moves us closer to mainstream blockchain adoption. Lava Mainnet and token launch will be community first We were recently on a call with @intern and he said something which has stuck with us ever since. "The community trusts us. Our first priority is to serve the community." It's a true insight into why the nads have gained such momentum in crypto. Over the past two years we've continuously sought to align with this ethos. Inspired by our recent conversations, we've further refined our Mainnet launch strategy to enhance our community focus. There is a lot that goes into launching a Mainnet and token. One topic that has dominated CT over the last month has been the proliferation of low float/high FDV launches which lead to unsustainable charts and centralized holders. Crypto is a social coordination technology, as much as it a financial one. Our aim is to make sure that as many early contributors as possible have the opportunity to participate as the project and vision continues to grow. More details to come, but LAVA token launch will take a radically different approach to anything that has come before. Season 1 of Lava points is now over We have been building the community patiently over the last two years and Mainnet is just around the corner. Thank you to the 4+ million wallets that helped stress test the Lava Network over the last 5 months and contributed memes, content, and good vibes in our Discord. 56% is allocated to the community Mainnet will soon launch and we are getting ready to distribute an airdrop too. Crypto must return to its strengths if it is to remain relevant. We trust the community to use Lava to power and support the chains and applications of the future. Soon.

From infrastructure to real apps

Crypto has a shiny object problem.

56% is allocated to the community

Mainnet will soon launch and we are getting ready to distribute an airdrop too.

Crypto must return to its strengths if it is to remain relevant. We trust the community to use Lava to power and support the chains and applications of the future.

Soon.
