Good luck to public law folk at @VicUniWgtn sitting the #LAWS213 exam this morning. Apples on trees etc. 🍎🌳✅
It’s the return of #sparklybits. Due to recent departures, I’ve temporarily suspended my sabbatical to teach the first month or so of #LAWS213 Public Law at @VicUniWgtn. Great to today meet 350 keen students, curious citizens and future constitutional trainspotters. 🤓
And 2 lectures today draw to a close my teaching in #LAWS213 Public Law for 2023 (+ end of teaching — due to sabbatical — until at least July next year). A wonderful bunch of students (and many more not depicted) to converse with re discretion, judicial review and doughnuts. 🍩
Back in the classroom at @VicUniWgtn again — leading 350 students through public law, especially administrative law and judicial review. 🤓🍩 #laws213 #sparklybits
#LAWS213 folk: Confirming, as per, that any royalties received by me from you purchasing our book as a recommended text for the course have duly been donated to a good cause (and rounded up a fair bit…) — and @WhatsnewonNZLII is a super good cause. 📚
All the best to #LAWS213 Public Law folk at @VicUniWgtn, who are sitting their final exam this morning. Usual advice. Answer the bloody question. And apples on trees etc. 🤓🍩🍎
We remembered Hina in our #LAWS213 Public Law class today. She Zoom bombed our session on Wednesday and she sat on my lap for most of that class — her last one — as we talked about the proportionality calculus and Hansen steps. She was a true constitutional trainspotter. 🤓
One of the readings set for our #LAWS213 Public Law class for this week perhaps now takes on a new hue… 🤓
And first leg on the long haul trip back home to Aotearoa — with occasional gin/sleep stopovers — invigorated to be teaching 330 #laws213 public law folk at 9:30am on Wednesday morning… 🤓
I look forward to seeing folk in Admin Law #LAWS321; Local Govt and Sub-national Democracy #LAWS431531; and Public Law: Institutions, Norms, Culture #LAWS522 — and in T2, Public Law #LAWS213. 🎉
Good luck to the #laws213 folk at @VicUniWgtn sitting their final exam this afternoon. Answer the bloody question. Take your time and hurry up. Use the force etc. 🤓
Phew. Just finished an 8 week, two-stream block of teaching in #LAWS213. Discretion, judicial review, integrity branch, international law, te Tiriti — and lots of rich conversations along the way. We finished with a couple of weeks on Zoom — with Kārikihina but without doughnuts.
@Publicwrongs @publicaddress My #laws213 public law folk spotted this one a mile away, when it hit the wires. Pretty basic, given the right to education, that decent threshold needs to be set for disciplinary expulsion.
Public law folk at @VicUniWgtn working hard on an in-class worksheet — honing their surgical case law analysis skills. #laws213
Yesterday marked a return for me to large-format compulsory course teaching, kicking off the second half of #LAWS213 at @VicUniWgtn — and a new set of hand waving gestures… 🤦🏼♂️
@drdeanknight see there is a public law vibe and it is called the Law of Equity....just checking that you did teach Premium Real Estate in #laws213
