To insert a new column, place your cursor on the row which you want to create a new column beside and right click. When the options pop up, click on the "insert" option. A new row will come up.
The same rule applies for a new column.

4. Paste Transpose
This option allows you to change the orientation of the copied data. If the data was in rows, it will be pasted into columns and if the data was in columns, it will be pasted into rows.
