For sale! One of the most beautiful Shell natural history posters by John Leigh Pemberton - "Life in the Corn". This is my favourite of the whole series, a scene of high, endless summer, the rich, intricate edge-life of fields around harvest-time; hares and rabbits and field mice and harvest mice and little shrews, the wild grasses and cornflowers and poppies and corncockles. The poster was made in the late 1950s, and within its bucolic description, it carries chill reminders of ecological decline, of the impact of pesticides and seed-cleaning, and the myxomatosis outbreak of those years. Price: £35. Dm to buy or purchase directly from my Etsy shop here: https://t.co/E0OiLz0xMQ
