🚨 ABOUT LINEA TGE, POTENTIAL DELAY? 🚨 I’ve received several tweets and DMs about a possible delay in Linea’s TGE First, where did this rumour come from? → Yesterday morning, this tweet popped up: https://t.co/xeSeFmxexI On Polymarket, the odds of Linea holding its TGE in Q1 have dropped a lot. → A bit later an announcement on Discord was edited. It originally said, “Linea token by the end of Q1 2025,” but it was changed to, “We’re working toward our TGE, but we can’t confirm it right now.” There could be a few reasons for this, but I think the most likely one regarding the legal part. Linea is based in Switzerland, not a place like the Cayman Islands where you can just send a letter and set up a foundation in a day. The Swiss administration might have caused some delays, so it’s not guaranteed the TGE will happen in Q1 2025 as planned. I don’t think the technical side or the “tokenomics” part is delayed. So if there’s a delay (which isn’t certain), it’s probably due to legal stuff. → Linea is meant to be a public good. → It’s currently the L2 most aligned with Ethereum, both technically and philosophically. → Linea is the independent baby of Consensys, and Consensys is THE leader in Ethereum distribution. Just don’t forget: NO team member wants to push back the TGE. Decisions are made as a group, there’s no “dictator” at Linea who can decide alone to postponed a TGE. If there’s a delay, it’s out of the team’s control. I see terrible messages on Discord and X… Please be kind, they are on your side I understand that some people might feel frustrated, but be happy and support them. Insulting them won’t change much (especially if this delay is due to legal reasons) They’ve done amazing work on the Sybils part, so let’s give them credit instead of flipping out at the first sign of trouble.
