Anyone tried creating a #Ubuntu Bootable flash drive using either #Rufus or Balena Etcher on a #Macbook and then successfully managed to boot into the Try/Install mode and get the built-in keyboard and trackpad to work?
I have tried the whole of today and built-in keyboard and trackpad of the Macbook stops responding altogether once the Ubuntu GUI starts. Totally non-responsive. The CAPS LOCK key too doesn't work.
This happened on three separate Macbooks.
Interestingly, if you use a wireless keyboard and mouse (Bluetooth) with the dongle plugged in, then the wireless keyboard and mouse work perfectly but the built-in ones remain non-responsive.
I tried Ubuntu Build 24 and Kali Linux (latest build) too and the same issue persisted.l, suggesting that it is a #Linux + Macbook issue. It has nothing to do with the hardware.
Interestingly, the same flash drives worked perfectly on a #Windows laptop.
I googled around a bit and found quite a few people facing this issue since 2012, across multiple Linux kernels and builds. There were suggestions about adding a couple of lines of code to Grub but again, that worked for some and not for others.
Does anyone have a proper fix for this?

1) when using multiple threads is it possible to change the mapping of some regions to be NX in one of the threads but not others? Can do TLS to separate data but I can't figure MMU iso.
