From NLC President @mayorpatterson of @CityofAthensOH:
“I want to share an incredible resource that has helped 136 cities secure more than $436 million in federal funding for local infrastructure projects. The #LocalInfrastructureHub, a program led by the National League of Cities (NLC), offers free grant-writing trainings to help small and mid-sized cities develop competitive applications for federal infrastructure grant funding. Cities are encouraged to apply for these grants – made available by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act – to support essential bipartisan infrastructure projects that can improve communities and deliver results for residents. The Local Infrastructure Hub extended its registration deadline for its latest phase of trainings to Friday, January 24, so reserve your spot today! Classes will begin on January 27.
The Local Infrastructure Hub’s resources helped the Southeast Ohio Public Energy Council (SOPEC), a regional initiative led by my city of Athens, Ohio, secure $12.5 million in funding to construct electric vehicle charging stations across the state. The trainings and their resources, including individualized coaching and peer learning sessions, were instrumental in helping SOPEC’s staff navigate the complex federal grant application process. Each resource offered by the Local Infrastructure Hub is tailored to specific grant programs to help municipal staff craft winning grant applications.
As part of the program’s latest phase, the Local Infrastructure Hub is proud to offer a new and exciting training designed to help municipalities implement infrastructure projects and efficiently manage federal funds secured through federal grant programs. The Local Infrastructure Hub will offer resources for the popular Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. Subject matter experts and trainings will also focus on helping municipalities secure funding for developing clean energy projects, water infrastructure projects, and railway infrastructure projects.
I hope you will consider utilizing these free resources offered by the Local Infrastructure Hub.”
