With six months to go in the @MagnusHeystek #LocalVSOffshore unofficial challenge, things have certainly become interesting. After the S&P 500 (in rand terms) led the JSE for several years, the JSE is now 23% ahead. Given that the JSE has grown by 44% over the past 12 months, while the S&P 500 in rand terms has been negative over the same period, this shift is entirely understandable.
Firstly, happy b'day @MagnusHeystek (it's a big one 🎂).
You must have a big sigh of relief, with your horse now only trailing 3%.

Look who caught up with the Franklin US Opportunities Fund (in ZAR) over a 5yr period. Am I surprised? Nope.

Despite both having a negative month in December, #JSE however again managed to outperform S&P500 by 3.4% (in ZAR). JSE now leads $SPX by 9.6% since inception in @MagnusHeystek #LocalVSOffshore unofficial challenge.
