Professor Christina Victor "We really need high quality studies testing people's experience of loneliness pre-Covid and post-Covid, there is also a real need for longitudinal studies to follow people's experience of loneliness during their lifetime." #Lonelinessinlockdown
What does this mean? This study tells us that people's experience of loneliness was high at the start of Covid-19, it reduced over the pandemic. Also we learnt that if we are targeting depression/social anxiety- can have a big impact on loneliness. #Lonelinessinlockdown
Welcome to Dr Alexandra Burton, who is presenting on young people's experience of loneliness. Results from the understanding society dataset tell us that people 18-29 were feeling more lonely +reported the highest levels of loneliness during the pandemic. #Lonelinessinlockdown
Found that levels of loneliness in the countryside were lower. Also found that population density is an issue and impacts on people's experience of loneliness. Plus safety- If you feel unsafe,+have to stay at home you are more likely to feel lonely #lonelinessinlockdown
