Captioning. Seriously, this is important. Videos will be 80% of web content by next year, and without captions, a huge segment of people can’t access them. #heweb18 #mcs9

Screen Readers often interpret acronyms of three characters as a word. If you're writing an image description, add hyphens for emphasis. (V-C-U, rather than VCU). @ErikaForsack #mcs9

Space out acronyms in Twitter image descriptions and don't use extra periods (no AP style for times!) since a screen reader will pause for them. #heweb18 #mcs9

It’s ok to get a bit poetic in the image description if the purpose of the image is to evoke that same reaction. Example: a gorgeous photo of your campus with lush fall foliage. #heweb18 #mcs9
