Huge congratulations to our amazing Ambassador, Meera Syal 🎉 Meera has been awarded a Damehood as part of the New Years Honours for her services to literature, drama and charity – and we couldn’t be more thrilled! She’s been a passionate and unwavering champion for dementia since becoming an Ambassador for us in 2013, following the support she received when her father was diagnosed. Over the years her determination to stand alongside everyone affected by dementia has only grown stronger. With one million people now living with the condition, voices like Meera’s are vital in raising awareness, breaking down stigma and ensuring dementia remains firmly in the public consciousness. From becoming one of our first Dementia Friends to supporting our 2024 Behind Closed Doors campaign and 2025 Forget Me Not Appeal, Meera has fully embraced the fight against dementia, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Well done Meera on this well-deserved honour. And a special thanks for your continued support 💙 [Image description: Meera is standing against a blue background with her arms folded, looking directly to the camera with a soft smile.
