As nominations draw to a close this week for the 2026 #MEFConvocation Awards, I honour Karabo Ramasilo - the 2025 AI Champion, founder of AEGL, and a young man from Lomanyaneng who taught himself both AI and German. He used the R20 000 from last year’s award to build the backend of an accounting platform for informal traders. That work opened the door to another honour and to representing South Africa in China.
