Shout-out to the 2,867 State Fair employees who helped make the 2018 fair a massive success! In addition, many thanks to the 9,000 volunteers who helped everyone experience activities at Alphabet Forest, CHS Miracle of Birth Center, Kemps Little Farm Hands & more! #MSFReflections
The 2018 Grandstand Concert Series, sponsored by @sleepnumber, was pretty darn spectacular. 113,937 people attended a show this year (not including the Amateur Talent Contest Finals), & four of those shows were sold-out! #MSFReflections
Which show did you see this year?
This year, you helped us recycle 56 tons of glass, plastic & aluminum and compost 73 tons of food scraps. Nearly 3,500 tons of livestock manure were hauled to Hastings, where it was composted, mixed with dirt and used as fertilizer on 1,000+ acres of farm field. #MSFReflections
In 2018, the Minnesota State Fair featured 1,020 vendors, including food, merchandise, exhibits and more. We also welcomed 36 new commercial exhibits and five new food vendors this year! #MSFReflections
What are your favorite vendors here at the Great Minnesota Get-Together?
In 2018, we provided 1,116,650 riders FREE Park & Ride trips! State Fair Express Bus service provided rides to the Minnesota State Fair for 785,974 riders. Our free bike corrals held 12,464 bikes, and there were 36,890 free trolley rides on the fairgrounds! #MSFReflections
Our 2018 livestock & horse shows were some of the best yet. Built on the foundation of agriculture, we were thrilled to host 3,927 horse entries, 6,723 open class livestock entries, 3,369 @MNFFA entries and 2,868 @MN4H livestock entries at this year’s State Fair! #MSFReflections
The fairgrounds held 208 events this year, from car shows to horse shows to arts & crafts shows and everything in between. Thank you to the 1 million of you who attended one of these non-fair events! #MSFReflections
Which events did you visit the fairgrounds for in 2018?
As part of our 2018 #MSFReflections, we were thrilled to present more than 29,115 minutes of FREE (!!) entertainment on State Fair stages by 132+ acts. That’s more than 40 hours of entertainment to see each day of the fair! So yes, it would literally be impossible to see it all.
Over the next few days, we will be posting our favorite #MSFReflections from 2018! Thousands of exhibitors put their best to the test. There were 7,710 entries in creative activities, 5,741 in agriculture & horticulture, 2,599 in fine arts and 3,781 in K-12 competition.
