🇺🇸 MTA SEEKS BILLIONS FOR UPGRADES AS FUNDING SHORTFALL LOOMS New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking an additional $50 billion in cash and $10 billion in debt to fund $65.4 billion worth of planned upgrades, including Grand Central Station and multiple subway locations. Despite Gov Hochul's pledge to address the funding gap, nearly half of the MTA's proposed budget remains unfunded, and a $15 billion shortfall persists after the delay of the congestion pricing initiative. The MTA faces significant challenges, with infrastructure needs estimated at up to $115 billion. Source: Zerohedge
