Day 29: Remember, the engagement you’ll see in your community will change and evolve over time. 📈
By tracking members who re-engage with the community, you’ll be able to more easily validate what made them go from lurker to active user.

🤝 Supports other departments within the company

Day 23: Pick one thing at a time to test. ☝️
If you have too many experiments running at once, it becomes increasingly difficult to determine why you’re seeing those results.
Focus makes getting results faster, too.

Day 22: Do some research first. 🤓
Your outreach to potential members will be helpful for this step, as will observations of member behaviors.
Throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks works at this stage, too!

Day 21: Are you ready to experiment? 🧪
This is how you learn what you should be investing your time in long-term.
Approach everything you do as an experiment, with a hypothesis, conclusion, and next steps.

Day 19: Get feedback early and often. ✨
During this MVC period it's especially important, but this should be a routine habit you form as your community continues to grow. Learning what’s going well and what isn’t early can help avoid bigger long-term problems.

Day 17: Getting both quantitative and qualitative feedback is important when building your community. 📝
Anonymous surveys, 1:1 outreach, and quick polls are all easy ways to get feedback from members.

Day 15: When it comes to simple ways to boost engagement within your community, it's tough to beat a well-thought-out ritual.
💫 They help members build habits.
💬 They're easy for members to respond to.
🧑🤝🧑 They can be taken over by your members

Day 13: Actions speak louder than words. Show don’t tell.
Modeling the behavior you want to see in your community may look like:
🧑💻Posting content in the appropriate channels
💬 Asking or responding to questions
💫 Openly sharing insight

Day 11: New week, new theme! ✨
This week is engagement, a great indicator of community health & its value to the organization.
Engagement is usually a direct reflection of how much value members are getting from you and your community-building efforts. #MVCChallenge

Day 10: Manual welcomes go a long way to establishing relationships and building trust.👋
An automated message with basic info is still helpful, but make sure to reach out to everyone that joins and start a conversation.

Day 9: Make sure people know what behavior is acceptable and what isn’t as they’re joining the community. ✅
If they don’t know the rules of the road until after they’ve had the chance to participate you’re setting them and your community up for trouble.

Day 8: Onboarding can be an ideal time to understand people’s motivations for joining your community. 🧠
As they join, ask a few (but not too many!) questions about why they’re joining and their expectations as a member.

Day 7: There’s a delicate balance between overboard & not enough re: onboarding.
Ensure your members understand:
🗒️The purpose of your community
🧑🤝🧑How they can participate
💡What resources are available, &
📞How they can get in touch if they need anything.

Day 6: New week, new theme! ✨
This week is onboarding. You’ve done your outreach & have a group of committed founding members.
Now you have to have them “officially” join your community. A good onboarding experience is critical to getting folks engaged. 🧑🤝🧑
#MVCChallenge

Day 5: Make sure your founding members know you'll be building the community with them. 💑
Members will get more value out of the community if they can contribute, and the earlier they join the more impact they’ll be able to have.
