28 जनवरी 2026 को नई दिल्ली में आयोजित मॉडल यूथ ग्राम सभा (#MYGS) राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार समारोह के दौरान जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय, ऊना, हिमाचल प्रदेश द्वारा प्रस्तुत लाइव मॉक ग्राम सभा ने यह रेखांकित किया कि अनुभवात्मक शिक्षण युवाओं को सहभागी लोकतंत्र का सशक्त माध्यम बनाता है।
ग्राम सभा के मंच पर छात्रों द्वारा ग्राम पंचायत में पुस्तकालय की आवश्यकता के साथ-साथ बच्चों के शारीरिक विकास हेतु इनडोर गेम्स (Indoor Games) के लिए खेल के मैदान जैसी आवश्यकताओं को अपनी प्रस्तुति के माध्यम से प्रभावी ढंग से उठाया जाना यह दर्शाता है कि मॉडल यूथ ग्राम सभा जैसी पहलें युवाओं को जागरूक नागरिक और समाधान-उन्मुख नेतृत्व के लिए तैयार करती हैं, जिससे पंचायतें सामुदायिक विकास की मजबूत आधारशिला बनती हैं।

#MYGS | Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, addressed the National Award Ceremony of the Model Youth Gram Sabha and highlighted the vital role of Panchayats in India’s grassroots democracy.
In his address, he emphasized that real solutions to issues related to education, health, drinking water, sanitation, welfare schemes, and women-centric concerns are best achieved at the village level. He underlined the crucial role of Sarpanchs, Ward Members, and Panchayat representatives as the link between citizens and governance. He noted that Panchayats possess the unique strength to discuss, decide, and implement development initiatives within a single institution. Appreciating the students for their excellent mock Gram Sabha presentation, he remarked that such experiential learning is more impactful than conventional training. He encouraged early engagement of youth in leadership and participatory processes, stating that today’s children are the future drivers of a developed India.
