5/6 #MajorPlanetaryScale-#GeoEngineering or #OvertWeatherDisruption, may also destabilise all #FiveDimensionsOfGlobalSecurity in my #GlobalSecurityFramework: (human, national, transnational, environmental, and transcultural security). The consequences would extend far beyond altered weather patterns. Food systems, water access, health, livelihoods, migration dynamics, #biodiversity, and #SocialCohesion could all be affected. #Mistrust among states would deepen, #RetaliatoryDynamics could emerge, and already fragile #GovernanceNorms may erode. Moreover, geoengineering increasingly intersects with #OrbitalSpaceSecurity. #SatelliteSystems, atmospheric monitoring, and space-based infrastructures will play essential roles in #climate intervention and verification. This creates the risk of a dangerous convergence between #ClimateRivalry and #OuterSpaceCompetition.

3/6 The greatest danger may not lie solely in #Capability, but in #Perception. #MajorPlanetaryScale-#WeatherModification is unlikely to remain geographically contained and may fuel accusations of #EnvironmentalCoercion. Even if scientifically uncertain, suspicion alone can become #GeopoliticallyDestabilising. We have historical precedents, including weather modification efforts during the Vietnam War. In hydro-politically sensitive regions – from the Nile Basin to South Asia or the Arctic – #geoengineering may increasingly be interpreted through the language of #StrategicCompetition and #NationalSecurity. #AtmosphereRisks may become #Securitized.
