The Iranian people are cheering in the streets and will now likely have the power to take their country back from a tyrannical state sponsor of terror around the globe, but you are unhappy because you are a Trump hating libertarian douchebag that would rather grandstand as a non interventionist. In 1977, despite the Constitution's delegation of power to Congress in Article I, Section 8, Clause 3 "To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations" - the 95th Congress decided it could just re-delegate that power to the executive branch in case of a "national emergency." It was signed by Pres. Jimmy Carter. Now, most people haven't - but we've read the constitution - a few times, at least. And we haven't found anything in there about "emergency" powers authorizing one branch to pass the buck to another branch. The framers were very specific about which branch was delegated which power. If you allow Congress to just hand one power over to another branch - then other branches can do the same - since no such power to re-delegate to another branch was delegated in the Constitution itself.
