Expecting ordinary families to keep a copy of the Manusmṛti in their home or chant its verses like slokas is a fundamental misunderstanding of the text's purpose. It was designed to be consulted when resolving socio-legal conflicts, not used as a daily devotional manual.
Because the vast majority of Manusmṛti consists of codified Lokavyavahāra and Sadācāra (living righteous conduct), society lives the principles organically without needing to hold the statutory manual in their houses or read it daily.
