✍️🏾 I was speaking to a very dear friend of mine about Zimbabweans, and the way she described them really struck me. She said they are a weak and cowardly nation, a people so broken that weakness has become part of their very nature. Gukurahundi has really conditioned a nation to be numb, stripped of feeling, with no fire, no courage to rise against their government. Instead of fighting for change in their own land, they choose to scatter and die in foreign countries. For a moment, I couldn’t help but feel deep pity for them - a nation that has surrendered its dignity without a fight.
