Tensions have erupted in Braamfischerville, with Nhlanhla Lux preventing Phakel'umthakathi from working with the community to shut down a Somali-owned shop.
According to community members, Nhlanhla Lux asked why the community was so excited when Phakel'umthakathi arrived, saying that he himself had been there first. He then got into a confrontation with Phakel'umthakathi's bodyguards, eventually saying that Soweto is his own territory and that a Zulu man from Nongoma would not come to Soweto to do community work while he was there.

WATCH: ANC Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula, says the waiver to allow councillor candidates to run for the local government elections without matric was introduced because they found that there are candidates who are loved by the community but do not have matric.
He added that while they would allow some councillors to run without matric, they wonβt compromise on mayors as all candidates will have to posses university qualifications.
