#OnThisDay in 1899 General Maria Wittek was born. An NCO with the Polish Military Organization, she saw combat during the 1920 Polish-Bolshevik War. In #WW2 she once again fought for #Poland🇵🇱 with the underground resistance. Awarded the rank of Brigadier-General in 1991.
