The ten learners who started with us in January made it through the programme and qualified as #PADI skin divers.

The #MarineExplorers from Eco Active visited our team at the centre last week. 🤿
The day was centred around the theme of #humanimpact 👊🏽! We played Survive the Century, discussed ways that we can impact our planet positively, and ended the day with a #beachclean!
We believe that spending time in nature helps promote healthy emotional development. 💙
Our #MarineExplorers programme is not only aimed at fostering a healthy relationship with the #ocean, but also to help kids from low-income communities experience freedom found in nature!
On Friday, our brave #MarineExplorers ventured out to explore the #KelpForest for the very first time.
It was an exciting day filled with overcoming fears and shrieks of pure joy. The learners also spotted an #octopus hiding in its den, a pyjama catshark and a dark #shyshark!

It's that time of the week again! Today we are taking the #MarineExplorers to Windmill Beach. 🤿
This will be these learners' first experience diving in our great #kelpforest. Who knows what beautiful creatures await to be seen? 🐙
Brilliant 2 days with great students from @blennervillenationalschool on Fenit Beach discovering the wonders of our coastline from seaweed to anemones, fish, crabs and a myriad of shell dwelling molluscs! 🐟 🦀 ☀️

This week we’ll be taking shelter from the howling southeaster in the safety of the Shark Education Centre in #KalkBay.
But we’ll be sure to be back in the #ocean again from next week!

The kids from Eco Active completed their final pool session with the help of the incredible team at Pisces Divers. 💦
Happy Friday! Today, our new #MarineExplorers group will learn how to snorkel at the Pices Divers pool in #Simonstown.
We can't wait to see how these kids take to the water, all in preparation for #snorkelling in the kelp forest in a few weeks!
