Many (not all!) Mp notes count things (the green-ringed ones are not counts)

So, the 'leit' note is the simplest of the counting notes: just one occurrence.
If some textual feature occurs 2ce, this is marked with a ב in the margin; 3 times - ג, and so on.

This is a page from the famous #AleppoCodex
The biblical text is laid out in 3 columns per page
Small textual notes (Masora Parva) appear in vertical margins and between columns
#Isaiah40:1 has 2 short #MasoreticNotes: 'comfort' only occurs 2ce in #HebrewBible in this form, both in this verse. &phrase 'says yr God' unique. Ie 4 out of5 words get special masoretic treatment. A textually unique verse, pointing to unique pivot point in history of universe.
