I mean this fight alone #MayAppreciation
I love it everytime when I'm thinking of how many May version she'd played. We definitely can tell who is who. Like between LMDMay and May herself, almost everything is the same but we still can tell specifically who is the real one from her acting.
As of today, I have completed my #MayAppreciation project. It's taken a surprising amount of work--and there are many more people for whom I could give thanks. I set out to inject some positive energy into the Twitter-verse this month, and I hope I have done some of that. 🙏
#MayAppreciation Day 31
Today—on this last day of May 2021—I want to give thanks for CAS @VeryTiredGirl. I have so much respect and admiration for this woman. Though she is dealing with a variety of issues, she continues to participate in the life of Christ’s church.
#MayAppreciation Day 29
Today I want to give thanks for Jordan Cooper @DrJordanBCooper. Jordan needs little introduction in the world of Lutheran Twitter. He is well-known for his podcast Just and Sinner, as well as a variety of books he's written (and his love of Star Wars).
#MayAppreciation Day 28
Today I want to give thanks for Democracy of the Dead @Democracyotdead. I have had a number of back-and-forths with her and enjoyed all of them. We’ve talked about literature, theology, fairy tales, church culture, and other things too.
#MayAppreciation Day 27
Today I want to give thanks for Andrew Jones @C3POJones. Being a pastor can be lonely—but Andrew helps me not feel so alone (and not just because we share a name). Even if we’re just exchanging some silly jokes with gifs.
#MayAppreciation Day 26
Today I want to give thanks for Billy Schultz @bschultzy. I’ve only met him in the last few months, but I immediately appreciated his Christian witness. He’s another Lutheran who’s trying to “walk the walk” as he follows Christ.
#MayAppreciation Day 25
Today I want to give thanks for Rebecca Miller @FlatheadMama. I haven't had a ton of interaction with her, but I'm always grateful to meet a believer who cares about protecting life for the whole life--especially when that person is a fellow Lutheran.
#MayAppreciation Day 24
Today I want to give thanks for Elizabeth Bruenig @ebruenig. I am honestly amazed at how much hate this woman gets—perhaps because she straddles the worlds of orthodox Christianity and the political left. But many of us, including me, look up to her.
#MayAppreciation Day 23
Today I want to give thanks for Jacob Denhollander @JJ_Denhollander. We all know how cool his wife is, but Jacob is pretty cool too. Not only is he a firm supporter of Rachael and her work, but he himself is an insightful theologian.
#MayAppreciation Day 22
Today I want to give thanks for Rachael Denhollender @R_Denhollander. I have so much respect and admiration for this woman. She has worked so hard not only to find healing for her own pain, but also to advocate for other people hurt by the church.
#MayAppreciation Day 21
Today I want to give thanks for the Protect Your Noggin podcast @thepynp, hosted by Jeff and Stacy Mallinson (@wayfarerjeff and @StacieMallinson). I followed Jeff before this podcast began and was curious to see what he did with it. It did not disappoint.
#MayAppreciation Day 20
Today I want to give thanks for Diane Langberg @DianeLangberg. I've never spoken to her personally, but I so appreciate her work on this site. She tweets about trauma and abuse of power--especially within the church.
#MayAppreciation Day 19
Today I want to give thanks for Karen Swallow Prior @KSPrior. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a big literature guy—and I have a soft spot for any Christian who shares that love. Karen not only shares that love; she inspires it in other people.
#MayAppreciation Day 18
Today I want to give thanks for Ben Crosby @benjamindcrosby. Ben’s the kind of person who gives me hope—a member of the Episcopal Church who still believes the ancient creeds. He’s fighting the good fight in his circles, and I love to see it.
#MayAppreciation Day 17
Today I want to give thanks for Madelyn Rose Craig @MaddyRose_Craig. She is one of the quiet pillars of Lutheran Twitter, encouraging many of us who engage on this platform. Her tweets frequently remind me of what truly matters in this life.
#MayAppreciation Day 16
Today I want to give thanks for Leah @LeahBSassy. Many of you already know her and love her. She’s a thoughtful young woman who went to seminary not to become a pastor, but to learn more about theology. And now she entertains us with her tweets.
#MayAppreciation Day 15
Today I want to give thanks for Lisa Cooper @LaLaLisaCooper. This woman needs little introduction—she is well-known in Lutheran circles as an intelligent lay theologian and all-around sweet person.
#MayAppreciation Day 14
Today I want to give thanks for Bradly Mason @AlsoACarpenter. I haven’t had a ton of interactions with him, but I am grateful for the witness he provides on this site. He’s a man who takes seriously the call to bear fruit in keeping with repentance.
