These seats are from West's Cinema in Bath St, which opened #OTD 100 yrs ago. However, cinemagoers almost had to sit on the floor for the inaugural screening - the seats arrived on a boat at the harbour just four hours before doors opened!

The 19th #IslandGames kick off today in #Guernsey2023 and will see 3,000 athletes from 24 islands competing. We have memorabilia from past Games in our collection, including medals, souvenirs and even a Jersey gorilla mascot!

This special pocket watch was recently donated to our collection. It belonged to Canon Clifford Cohu, a local rector imprisoned and deported during the Occupation for acts of defiance. He never returned and died in a forced labour camp in Germany in 1944.

t’s #BikeWeek100, which marks a century of celebrating #Cycling. We have over 30 different bicycles in our collection, including two C19th ‘boneshakers’. The first bikes with pedals, they had an iron frame and wooden wheels. Heavy and uncomfortable to ride!
