Bangladesh signs a 25 year power purchase agreement at rates higher than any supplier, including those from India. Sheikh Hasina is the Prime Minister. Later, a revolution takes place, Sheikh Hasina has to flee Bangladesh. She is now sentenced to death by Bangladesh. She is state guest in India at the moment. Bangladesh is investigating corruption by Adani in the 25 year power purchase agreement. So, this is how it flowed. Modi asks Bangladesh to take electricity from India. Adani signs the MOU. Modi gives loan to Bangladesh. Bangladesh signs PPA with Adani. Same thing has just taken place in Bhutan, where Modi has given a loan for power project and the project has gone to Adani. Same thing happened in Sri Lanka. Same thing happened in Rafale Deal, where Modi paid 30,000 Crore extra that came back as Offset Contract for Anil Ambani. If one was to study all the tours of Modi since 2002, while he was CM of Gujarat to 2014 onward, when he became PM of India, it will become clear that Adani has been receiving tax payer money via dubious deals. Problem is, that these deals do not impact common citizens on a daily basis and it does not impact them financially in the short run. Fact remains that money that could have been spent on providing better facilities to citizens is being diverted for personal gains. In the long run, it will hurt the country. Like a regime change in Sri Lanka and now Bangladesh puts the investments in danger of being written off.
