The son of Marvis Kneeland Jones, one of the #MemphisState8 sat down with me on his mother's university days as she integrated the then Memphis State. How her legacy continues up next at 10 on @ABC24Memphis

A Hamiltonian and Memphis public schools educator for more than 25 years, Marvis Kneeland Jones was a nonconformist who blazed a trail for children and generations to come. Thank you for your SERVANT LEADERSHIP. Life well lived. #MemphisState8 https://t.co/cbw1JcQIQr

@SCSSuptRay @uofmemphis @SCSK12Unified @KevinWoods @CityOfMemphis @ShelbyCoTN @choosescs @FedEx @kroger @Iam1Cent The Rebounders were happy to support this great event and celebrate the “Giant Steps” taken by #MemphisState8 as mentioned by the keynote speaker. Those steps opened the doors to Tiger greats like Herb Hilliard, Larry Finch, Elliot Perry and Penny Hardaway the player & coach!

An evening celebrating the COURAGEOUS #MemphisState8 and honoring the many @uofmemphis Black Alumni who serve as agents of change in this city. A special salute to the achievements of @SCSK12Unified Instructional Leader Director Dr. Leviticus Pointer and Board Member @KevinWoods.

Do you trade an #NIT Championship for a #MarchMadness bid??? Absolutely not. #Memphis just got 4 Nationally televised games and a big ass trophy. Proud of my Alma Mater. Well done, #Tigers, well done Penny. #GTG #GoTigersGo! They dominated that dance. #MemphisState8

Just watching the replay and I didn’t know @MemphisFB and @UofMEquipment added #MemphisState8 decals too! That’s awesome.

It’s been 60 years since the Memphis State 8 stepped foot on campus- forever changing the University if Memphis. The school will honor its first 8 African American student tonight at a free and public event. @uofmemphis #MemphisState8
