We gave plenty of warning but folks didn't listen. We enforced a new city ordinance approved to stop dangerous "Street Takeovers" where participants shut down interstates/highways/intersections to perform illegal traffic activities. #MessAroundImpound

Shut down the street and take it over, your car will be impounded up to 90-days. Street takeovers are dangerous & will be expensive for violators. Fines/fees can easily reach more than $2,000. Think twice before shutting down traffic to do donuts. #MessAroundImpound

Street takeovers are extremely dangerous, & folks who do them will be cited, jailed, & now can have their car impounded up to 90-days! Participants who shut down roads to perform burnouts & donuts will have to pay fines/fees that add up to more than $2,000. #MessAroundImpound

This month a updated city ordinance goes into effect enhancing enforcement of dangerous street takeovers. OKC’s updated public nuisance ordinance allows 90-day impounds & participants can be arrested. Fees/fines can easily be over $2,000. Fair warning. #MessAroundImpound
