Today is the last day to see #RebeccaBair’s “The Sun Found Me Amongst the Clouds,” #MichelleSound’s “Aunties Holding It Together” and #LongGao’s “a meditation.” The shows close at 6PM today. Join us from 4-6PM for a short open house, where all three artists will be in attendance.
There are just three days left to see #MichelleSound’s “Aunties Holding It Together” at BAF. We loved seeing these two series come together over the course of Sound’s residency. Thank you, Michelle, for sharing this emotionally complex and powerful work with us.
The gallery is open today from 12-5PM. Come by and see three distinct shows under one roof—#RebeccaBair's "The Sun Found Me Amongst the Clouds," #MichelleSound's "Aunties Holding It Together," and #LongGao's "a meditation." Each exhibition continues until October 22.
The stretched drums from #MichelleSound's "Aunties" series pay homage to a community of caretakers, and are a tribute to what Sound calls "classic auntie style." The 17 drums currently on display at BAF feature acid wash denim, leather fringe, dyed fur, and more.

The caribou tufting in #MichelleSound's "Aunties Holding It Together" was created by stitching and trimming bundles of dyed caribou hair into cheerful pompoms. Come see these and other intricate details in Sound's works, including beadwork, embroidery, and porcupine quillwork.
