I was working on @kostascrypto June/July step to sign challenge and wrote the code for signing Sui transactions without using @MicroSuiDev, mainly because it didn’t even cross my mind that the library existed. I actually got the code working, but I kept getting random signatures. I did a ton of debugging, reading $Sui's docs over and over again, thinking I was missing some critical step in the signing process. At some point, I felt like a cryptographer deep in the weeds 🤣.
Eventually, I gave up and decided to try the Microsui library and guess what? The same issue still happened. That’s when it hit me: the problem wasn’t with the signing logic at all. It turned out the bytes weren’t being picked up completely from the Serial monitor every time.
Now I don’t even know whether to be happy or sad. On one hand, I wasted so much time. If I had used Microsui from the start, I probably wouldn’t have gone down this rabbit hole. But on the other hand, I’ve learned so much about Sui cryptography in the process, and that’s a win in itself 🤌.
