In Brussels, an important change of duties for Poland’s #MilitaryRepresentative #MILREP to NATO and the EU. An outstanding 🇵🇱officer Gen #SławomirWojciechowski departs, followed by another outstanding 🇵🇱officer Gen #PiotrBłazeusz. Gen Wojciechowski, is the former Commander of 🇵🇱’s #OperationalCommand @DowOperSZ, former Commander, NATO’s #MultinationalCorpsNortheast @hqmncne and graduate of the prestigious 🇺🇸#ArmyWarCollege. His steady leadership as 🇵🇱’s MILREP has been crucial during a time of great challenge, including Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine accompanied by Russia’s continuous hybrid, terror and more recently, kinetic attacks on Poland and regional Allies. Gen Błazeusz, (goes by: “Zeus”), is 🇵🇱‘s former Deputy #ChiefOfDefense, #DCHOD @SztabGenWP, former Commander of the #EUROCORPS, @HQEurocorps, and graduate of the prestigious #USAirForceAcademy @af_academy. Gen Blazeusz assumes 🇵🇱’s MILREP duties as well, during a time of extreme challenge, with stress across the Alliance as - at varying speeds - Allies strengthen capabilities including defense industries. It’s a time when Poland is looked to more and more as a crucial Alliance leader, and pacesetter on defense reform. It’s also a time when America is deep into a Posture-Review of 🇺🇸forces in Europe, where Poland, is a key strategic 🇺🇸Ally, and is at the heart of the discussion. It’s a time when 🇺🇸 has a generational opportunity to maximize on defense trends in Poland and in the special 🇺🇸🇵🇱 relationship. In short, it’s #AmericaPolandFirst to permanently base 🇺🇸forces in Poland. It’s a foundational move supporting 🇺🇸’s strategy of #PeaceThroughStrength. Poland is fortunate to have these two great officers, working towards the best interests of Poland and the Alliance, with deep experience working closely with American forces.
