In #MindofEvil and #DayoftheDaleks we skirted around the politics and the closed room meetings of diplomats and here it is pushed to the fore. It may not quite be Game of Thrones but I really like this kind of stuff #DoctorWho #CurseofPeladon
It feels like we are getting some world building here, the situation has deteriorated since #MindofEvil and we are on the verge of WW3. There is a little dialogue about China vs Russia and S America but it isn't clear who is going to war with who or why #DoctorWho #DayoftheDaleks
The ending is quite effective (as is this shot of the helicopter flying behind the missile) but it is a shame the peace conference plotline is side-lined and then dropped altogether. #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
As a general rule I love the relationship between Three and Jo but then every so often we get a scene like this. The Doctor feels guilty about what happened to Barnham and snaps at her (and she apologizes!) It does humanise him a little I suppose #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
The Master mimicking the Doctors strange steering wheel motion in relation to his nuclear weapon (while still holding a gun) made me actually laugh out loud π. The two have great comic timing #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
The Master really needs to learn to take a minute to think through his plans. How would a nuclear war put him in control of Earth? If he just wanted the missile then why even bother with the fear sucking monster, just steal it. #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
I can't remember having watched this scene before as the Keller Machine is opened and we see the creature inside. I'm not sure it was a good idea, it looks too Dalek like for me and the eye seems an odd embellishment. There something to be said for mystery #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
Brig: Right, Sergeant Benton. You'll be in charge of the prison. You can consider yourself Acting Governor
Brig: Oh, Benton?
Ben: Yes, sir?
Brig: Don't get any delusions of grandeur, will you?
Ben: No, sir.
That has to be my favourite scene of the episode #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
The machine has no effect upon Barnham as there are no evil impulses to feed off. Jo on the other hand seems very affected by it. What lurks behind the sweet and innocent façade Ms Grant? #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
It isn't just Mailor who is uncomfortable around Barnham but the Brig, Benton and even the Doctor. This reformed prisoner has the effect of making everyone other than Jo visually socially awkward. I'm sure there is a social commentary in there somewhere #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
UNIT redeem themselves completely here after losing the missile. This extended scene of attacking the prison is beautiful. I'm sure it was expensive but it looks great and shows a more hardcore UNIT who shoot first #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
The transition here is almost enough to make you think they are going to do a flashback to the Doctor, Raleigh and a potato. It is a very nice castle though #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
The Doctor and Jo have floor breakfast and bond. The Doctor is very depressed and worn out and Jo is able to bring him out of it. I think this is a turning point in their relationship #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
It is difficult to distinguish but Koquillion showing up as one of the Doctors greatest fears was a choice. Guessing they just thought he looked good without knowing who he was. Curiously he also appears in the Whoniverse logo #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
I always like it when the Doctor and Master work together. It helps elevate this whole sequence from the Doctor throwing a a hoop over a box #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
"Benton, you're supposed to be suffering from severe concussion" I appreciate what they are gong for, but even if you let Benton go on the mission would you allow him to lead a team? #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
I don't think I say often enough how much I like the Brigadier. He is the glue holding all of the elements of the show together at this point. The comedy can occasionally go a little far but on the whole he is brilliant #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
With Yates and Benton out of action (and Bell just missing) we get to meet Cosworth and I honestly can't decide if he is intended as comic relief or a parody of some officers in the army #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
Mailor is a new type of villain for the show. From his dismissal of the Doctors offer to his repulsion at Barnham and the leering looks he gives Jo, he is something we have never really had before #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
At the end of #TerroroftheAutons the Doctor took the Masters dematerialization circuit meaning he couldn't have left Earth to find this alien. This therefore suggests that he set up this plan as a backup in case his Auton plan failed #DoctorWho #MindofEvil
