Gm Gm ☕ I feel like writing about Bitcoin in this moment for these times and for you all that enjoy pondering the deeper side of things. #ModernBitcoin It is the world's most secure decentralized immutable database. The idea was trustless digital cash. The reality was digital gold. The use case was hodl the godl. Until Ordinals. Bitcoin is still a database and being used as such with serialized sats as index IDs for inscription (file storage) namespaces. There can be many namespaces. "ord" is the first. This database called Bitcoin generates and stores its own inherent data. The fabric of the network's activity, cryptographically derived strings of numbers and letters. This data represents non-arbitrary value, the result of years of Proof of Work computations and energy consumption. Specifc data, from the core code's design and intentionality, are strings representing stacks of satoshis, the smallest atomic units of whole bitcoins. Other data is value residue that lies dormant serving no purpose beyond its initial inclusion, unless specifically recognized or utilized as a form of consensus driven value, previously undiscovered and out-of-band from the original financial design. This process of digital value extraction, if it is to be pursued, is not unlike the history of world civilization of exploiting underutilized resources. There are Bitcoin pioneers exploring and exploiting this Digital Matter now. What will become of these new forms of interpretive value? How might it impact Bitcoin and the world? Nobody knows exactly the answer to this, but some will continue to extract value and meaning out of this immutable data that symbolizes massive energy consumption. There is digital gold.
