Having now finished leading the polling exercise of Young Conservatives’ priorities, I’m supporting Cllr Matthew Goodwin-Freeman and this is why: My priorities for YC are accountability, genuine member empowerment and engagement, and the courage to develop serious policy ideas and make the case for our generation within the Party. As a former councillor, I know the adversity you face as a councillor requires courage, or it builds it in you. We are living through a housing crisis, and it can feel like a hopeless crisis. Young people are struggling to find good jobs, renters facing *very high rents comparative to 10-20+ years ago, and working parents are being squeezed. Collectively, we are all being squeezed by the rising cost of living. Why? Too often, the people most organised and influential in politics are those whose priorities cut directly against the interests and aspirations of younger generations. I believe YC has a responsibility to change that and become a stronger voice not only for its members, but for aspirational young people, renters, workers and active parents across the country. It has stood out to me that Matthew is willing to be questioned, held account and judged on delivery. He has shown courage, strong campaigning and leadership experience, a serious interest in member development and regional engagement, and an unapologetic patriotism that I value. I want a YC that gives members a real voice, develops future campaigners and candidates, contributes serious ideas to the Party and has the confidence to fight for the interests of our generation and to build at a team that shares that goal. This is why I’m backing Matthew. If you also want YC to be much MORE than currently, vote for Cllr Matthew Goodwin-Freeman.

🚨 POLICY ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨 🤝 More Branch Support Young Conservatives are filling in my survey and telling me Branches don't all get the same support. Let's change that! YCs say they want: ✅️ Better communication between Branches, Associations and CCHQ. ✅️ More tools and guides like practical advice, resources, templates, and sharing best practice. ✅️ More levels of support to help. Not just the National Chair but a Board made of Regional reps, plus a National Executice covering the UK, all working to help YCs. 🔗 https://t.co/k8JJHWi8BM
