In reaction to what was deemed an excess of immorality in US motion pictures, government & industry officials introduced the #MotionPictureProductionCode (aka the #HaysCode) OTD in 1930. The censorship rules-no man & woman in bed together, for example-were not dropped until 1968.

Today in 1930-in a reaction to what was deemed rampant immorality in American motion pictures-government & industry officials adopted the #MotionPictureProductionCode, better known as the #HaysCode. Though at first of little impact, by 1935 the code was being strictly enforced.

Today in 1930-in reaction to what was deemed an excess of immorality in #Hollywood films-government & movie industry officials begin enforcing the #MotionPictureProductionCode, which spelled out acceptable & unacceptable content for motion pictures produced for a public audience.
