A mother and her disabled son have joined a pro-Palestine rally in London’s Parliament Square, saying the child would not survive a month under Gaza’s conditions. Karen, attending with her young son Raffy, said she had been supporting the cause since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza. "I’m very aware that Raffy would be dead if he lived in Gaza. He’s a picture of innocence, and to think that so many children, disabled and able-bodied, are being slaughtered is something we can’t let happen without speaking up," she said. She condemned the UK government’s move to ban Palestine Action, calling it "senseless" and "embarrassing", particularly under a Labour government she had long supported. The rally comes amid reports that more than 200 people in Gaza have died from starvation alone, almost half of them children, as famine worsens under Israel’s blockade.
