#MyFirstKOF was 99. I used to play CAPCOM games, but Ralf got my attention (voice, desing, moves... All of him!) I thought this KOF was very serious but, after looking that funny interactions between some characters I love it and also wanted to know more about them.

#MyFirstKOF was the PSOne port of KOF '99, in 2000.
I was fascinated with that game. After I played '99, I looked for the previous games, then I followed KOF and SNK until today.
Since then, KOF and SNK became an important part of my fucking life! :')
#MyFirstKOF Saw KoF 94. Thought the graphics were much worse than games that the FF and AOF characters were from but hot dang did I love Kyo and Benimaru's character design. Bought KoF 94 on the Neo Geo.
#MyFirstKOF was Fatal Fury (b/c lore and b/c old). I played it at my local discount store back in the day.
KOF '94 ended up in that store as well, and it was like SNK had read my mind (found out about the Ryo fight in FF Special) about a crossover.
Still love me some SNK.
My story with #MyFirstKOF starts very similar to others from my region: through the NeoRageX emulator. My very first SNK game was Art of Fighting but my first KOF was KOF99 (the best i could've asked for). I spent countless hours playing and talking about KOF after that...
#MyFirstKOF was a neat trip. My brother got a used PS1 copy of Capcom vs SNK as a gift, but it didn't work. So we went to Gamestop to see about exchanging the disc. The clerk said he didn't have any other CvS copies but could recommend KoF99 as a strong alternative.
While Capcom's great at making characters who feel larger than life, very few of them have managed to feel like they were truly fleshed out, "real" characters. SNK, on the other hand, has this vibrant universe of characters who are unique & fleshed out.

I was visiting my grandparents in Mexico when I was 10 in the summer of 2000. My cousins took me to an arcade where there was KoF 2000. I don't remember much from that experience other than Leona in Egypt but that stuck w/ me till uh... emulation rolled around lmao

14 years ago, en CE2... j'accompagnais un pote dans une vieille salle d'arcade non loin de notre école. A l'époque, je ne connaissais que Street Fighter et Mortal Komba en termes de jeux de combats, et jetais nul de ouf. Et c une fois à l'intérieur que je le vois:

It was the 1st day they recieved the game and it was overcrowded. I picked the Fatal Fury team and was able to do the Screw Upper DM with Joe using the same motion from SFC Garou 2.
