Jammu, June 10 (KINS): Senior BJP leader and MLA @pathania_rs on Tuesday welcomed the Government of India's strong condemnation of the recent "violence in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and called upon political parties and human rights groups to raise their voices against the alleged repression faced by people in the region".
Pathania as per news agency KINS questioned what he described as the "selective approach" of certain self-styled human rights watchdogs, think tanks and commentators".
He said that while these groups frequently speak about human rights issues in Jammu and Kashmir, they remain silent on the situation in PoJK.
He urged mainstream political parties in Jammu and Kashmir, including the National Conference, PDP and People's Conference, to come forward and take a clear stand against what he termed the "reign of repression" in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir".
Pathania said the people of Jammu and Kashmir should stand in solidarity with the residents of PoJK and support their demand for basic rights and freedoms.
He emphasized that concerns regarding human rights should be addressed universally and not be influenced by political considerations or geographical boundaries.
"The people of Jammu and Kashmir must stand with the people of PoJK," he said, calling for a united voice against alleged human rights violations in the region.(KINS)
