🚨 Data Breach Alert ‼️ 🇮🇹🇪🇸 - Hotel Identity Document Breach Claims on the Rise A wave of cybercriminal activity is sweeping through the European hospitality sector, with guest identity documents becoming prime targets for threat actors across Italy and Spain. The threat actor known as "mydocs" has surfaced today claiming responsibility for multiple breaches involving Italian hotels. The first alleged incident dates back to July 2025, when Hotel Ca’ dei Conti, a 4-star boutique hotel in Venice, was reportedly compromised. According to the actor, over 38,000 high-resolution scans of guest passports and national ID cards, collected during the hotel’s check-in (KYC) process were exfiltrated. Shortly before that, in June 2025, another Italian establishment, Casa Dorita, was allegedly targeted, resulting in the theft of 2,300 high-quality JPG images of guest identity documents. In both cases, the stolen material reportedly includes clear, legible images that could be exploited for identity fraud or synthetic identity creation. Just a few hours ago, "mydocs" also claimed to be selling a fresh batch of over 30,000 guest ID scans from Hotel Regina Isabella, a luxury resort in Ischia, along with more than 6,300 identity documents allegedly obtained from the Spanish 5-star resort Hills Boutique Mallorca.
