#Suspects in attempted #murder of tricycle rider ‘plead not guilty’ Suspects who were rounded up in relation to the attempted murder of a Keke #Napep rider in #Maiduguri have pleaded not guilty. YERWA EXPRESS NEWS has reported how police in the state paraded the suspects for allegedly attempting to kill one Ibrahim Husssaini, a Keke Napep rider and steal his #tricycle. The case which is before Borno State High Court 9, presided over by Hon. Justice Mohammed Maina. Last month, the case was adjourned after the escape of one of the nine suspects. The hearing resumed yesterday after he was rearrested. Our correspondent gathered that the three suspects pleaded not guilty after count charges against them were read. The charges include attempted murder, armed robbery and owning offensive weapons. After pleading not guilty, they were ordered to be remanded in the correctional centre, and the case was adjourned to September 20. The counts read as follows: That you, Suleiman Abubakar m' 27 years old, Abubakar Suleiman m' 20 years old, Ibrahim Umaru "m' 20 years old and Mohammed Abubakar 'm' 23 years old (now at large), on or about the 04h day of July, 2023 at about 1930 hrs, at Ngomari Custine Area, Maiduguri, which is within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did commit an illegal act to wit: you conspired among yourselves to commit armed robbery against one Hussaini Ibrahim 'm' 32" years, of his tricycle (keke-napep) and did so in furtherance of the conspiracy and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 97 (1) and punishable under Section 298 (b) of the Penal Code Law, Cap.102, Laws of Borno State, 1994. Mohammed Abubakar 'm' 23 years old (now at large), on or about the 04" day of July, 2023, at about 1930 hrs, along Muna Park Area, Maiduguri, which is within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did commit an illegal act to wit: stabbed one Hussaini Ibrahim M 32 years old with a cutlass on his forehead, neck and head with the knowledge that death could be the probable consequence of your act and you thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 229 (1),9f the Penal Code Law, Cap. 102, Laws of Borno State, 1994. That you, Suleiman Abubakar m' 27 years old, Abubakar Suleiman m' 20 years old, Ibrahim Umaru "m' 20 years old and Mohammed Abubakar m' 23 years old (now at large), on or about the 04" day of July, 2023 at about 1930 hrs, along Muna Park Area, Maiduguri, which is within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court while armed with offensive weapons, to wit: cutlasses, stabbed and robbed one Hussaini Ibrahim 'm' 32° years, of his tricycle (keke napep) and one Samsung Mobile Phone and that you thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 298 (b) of the Penal Code Law, Cap.102, Laws of Borno State.

Suspects who were rounded up in relation to the attempted murder of a Keke #Napep rider in #Maiduguri have pleaded not guilty.

YERWA EXPRESS NEWS has reported how police in the state paraded the suspects for allegedly attempting to kill one Ibrahim Husssaini, a Keke Napep rider and steal his #tricycle.

The case which is before Borno State High Court 9, presided over by Hon. Justice Mohammed Maina.

Last month, the case was adjourned after the escape of one of the nine suspects.

The hearing resumed yesterday after he was rearrested.

Our correspondent gathered that the three suspects pleaded not guilty after count charges against them were read.

The charges include attempted murder, armed robbery and owning offensive weapons.

After pleading not guilty, they were ordered to be remanded in the correctional centre, and the case was adjourned to September 20.

The counts read as follows:
