Impt caveat is that the upper 95% CI limit for zero events is approx 3/n, which in the #NICOtrial is about 2.7% (eg. Death, major aspiration) - we shouldn’t get too carried away with the apparent safety of either arm in this study #CCR24 see Henley 1984 https://t.co/bXIsJjpp9Y

📣"Less than 8, intubate" Is it true? @FreundYonathan is discussing #NICOtrial at #CCR24 📌 Withholding #intubation of comatose pts with suspected acute poisoning is beneficial for the composite in-hospital #death, length of #ICU & hospital stay https://t.co/nfggukm6HS

#NICOTrial - I do wonder how much monitoring/staff time you need to safely ‘watch’ pt with GCS 3 + no invasive airway - safe without a tube isn’t surprising, but I don’t know where I could safely stand by ‘leaving’ a GCS 3 pt in my hospital, other than on ICU…. #CCR24
