1/2 Today, @Solidaridad_wa, in partnership with @IDHTrade, concluded a 2-day workshop with the National Research Partners (NRP) under #NISCOPS in Nigeria. The NRP comprises academics who support and validate research for the implementation of NISCOPS.
1/2 The #NISCOPS programme in Nigeria is equipping #smallholder #farmers like Josephine Udenyi with the knowledge and skills to raise quality oil palm seedlings in their communities, supporting the sustainability of the #oilpalm sector.
Solidaridad has conducted a training workshop for 31 community leaders, government officials, and community facilitators on deforestation-free oil palm production, under #NISCOPS in Nigeria, equipping participants with knowledge on forestry regulations and more.
1/2 As part of efforts to promote the adoption of #sustainable practices in the oil palm sector in Nigeria, @Solidaridad_wa has embarked on an awareness campaign to educate stakeholders, including communities & farmers, on forest protection laws, under the 2nd phase of #NISCOPS.
1/2 In 2023, @Solidaridad_wa, under #NISCOPS in Nigeria, successfully upgraded 8 artisanal mills to improve the #oilpalm extraction rate and income of processors in communities. So far, 3,200 oil palm processors are benefiting from the mills across the 4 implementing states.
2/2 He visited Joe Farms and Processing Enterprise, an upgraded oil palm mill under #NISCOPS, and Agro Quorum, a rural service center established with support from @Solidaridad_wa under #SWAPP.
Solidaridad has trained 32 community facilitators in #oilpalm best management practices, community entry methods, gender & social inclusion, and #VSLA operations, under #NISCOPS in Nigeria. NI-SCOPS is funded by @NLNetherlands & @FCDOGovUK.
With the aim of restoring degraded lands through oil palm cultivation, @Solidaridad_wa has distributed 120,000 #oilpalm seeds, 6,000 kgs of fertilizer and other inputs to smallholder farmers across 4 states in Nigeria under #NISCOPS 2 funded by @NLNetherlands and @FCDOGovUK.
Solidaridad and @IDHTrade, organized a policy dialogue for oil palm stakeholders to solicit their commitment to address the primary challenges associated with establishing palm oil traceability systems in Nigeria, under #NISCOPS 2 funded by @Netherlands and @FCDOGovUK.
1/2 On 18 April, @Solidaridad_wa and @IDHTrade, the implementing partner for the 2nd phase of #NISCOPS in Nigeria, visited the Dutch embassy to provide updates on the completion of the 1st phase of the programme and discuss plans for the 2nd phase.
1/2 On Wednesday, the National Advisory Committee (NAC), a committee established under the #NISCOPS programme in Ghana, met in Accra to review the first phase of the programme and strategically plan for the successful implementation of phase two.
The #oilpalm sector in Ghana is experiencing a gradual #transformative shift in processing methods, with the introduction of a #climatesmart oil palm mill. The innovation, co-funded by @UNDPGhana & @mestighofficial, is under #NISCOPS.

To promote #sustainable land use practices in communities, @Solidaridad_wa has built the capacity of 45 smallholder #oilpalm farmers on the safe use of bio-friendly herbicides, under #NISCOPS funded by @NLNetherlands and @Henkel.
Solidaridad has completed a 3-day capacity building session for 150 students of @INSIDE_AKSU, on #oilpalm best management practices, as part of practical skill acquisition for the students of the faculty of agriculture. This is under #NISCOPS funded by @NLNetherlands & @Henkel.

A team from @Solidaridad_wa visited Joe Farms and Processing Enterprise located in Kade in the Eastern region of Ghana, to inspect progress on an artisanal oil palm mill upgraded under #NISCOPS with funding from @UNDPGhana and @mestighofficial.
In May, Isabella Aganin received training in #oilpalm best management practices, horticulture and agripreneurship as a student beneficiary of #NISCOPS in Nigeria. Today, she earns 6,000 Naira weekly from her vegetable farm. NISCOPS is funded by @NLNetherlands and @Henkel.
