While we appreciate the diversity of being #NativeAndUrban, it's important to know the residence of urban Natives wasn't a choice but a result of racist relocation policies. Although some of us may be far from our ancestral lands, we have strong connections w/our urban relatives.
Q2: Research with urban Native communities can sometimes focus on the challenges found within our communities. But we know we have a lot of strengths too. What is one thing you wish researchers knew about being #NativeAndUrban?
Our example is just one of the priorities of urban Native people. It’s important to let #NativeAndUrban voices tell you their priorities, not just assume you know.
