If humans don't care for the natural environment on land, destroying forests, rivers, and lakes, destroying ecosystems, and wiping out over 70% of species, will they truly care for the ocean?
This is a problem of both social systems and human nature.

‘Severe’ stress on oceans as rate of sea-level rise doubles in 10 years, UN warns. Pressures including pollution and industrial fishing are leading to widespread biodiversity loss and “severe strain” on ocean systems. https://t.co/glwe5JTEIO

Soils contaminated with chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and lacking in organic matter (carbon), are vulnerable to weather changes. Large-scale agriculture prioritizing efficiency destroys the natural environment and is unsustainable.

A competitive society focused on a single value is also degrading soil.
“A teaspoon of healthy soil holds more living organisms than there are people on planet Earth”
Yet humans are rapidly degrading world soil and threatening world food supply
Without soil, there would be few plants on the land and nothing for us or animals to eat

As El Niño intensifies, its global impact could be a reflection of a near future where global warming is spreading worldwide. Ignoring it will undoubtedly lead to that future.

Humans in human society are unaware that they are born and live in the Earth's environment, which is made up of a complex web of connections in the natural world.

In reality, only the ground temperature has risen by 5°C, and the harmful effects of global warming seem to have little impact.
Without any change in the natural environment, the temperature is slowly changing, and the source of CO2 emissions is shifting—a slow change in the natural world.
The current crisis is not just global warming; the natural environment is rapidly deteriorating due to the destruction of the natural environment, the disruption of the water cycle, and pollution.
If it were only global warming, the deterioration would not be this rapid; anthropogenic global warming is deteriorating the Earth and the natural world in a complex way.

Polar changes are rapid, warming at 3 to 4 times the normal rate. All of the initial scientific predictions for the effects of polar warming are being accelerated.
This means we are approaching the collapse of the Earth's system that maintains its stability.

A 31.6 degrees C (88.9 degrees F) Sea Surface Temperature (SST) now in the eastern North Pacific off the Mexico- Guatemala border is nearly as hot as the North Indian Ocean’s and world’s highest at 31.9 C (89.4F) off the west coast of Myanmar at about the latitude of Bangkok (down from the highest reading of 32.2 degrees C (90.0 degrees F) of 3 days ago). The warmest in the Atlantic Basin is 30.4 degrees C (86.7 degrees F) near Cubas Isle of Youth.
A rare “triple alignment” of a strong El Niño peaking about November, a positive Indian Ocean Dipole and an anomalously warm North Atlantic sea surface is on track because the western Indian Ocean has higher SST anomalies than the eastern Indian Ocean (a trend which is increasing) and the North Atlantic sea surface continues anomalously warm especially due to the marine heat wave in the northwest Atlantic - despite the Cold Blob just to its north which continues intensifying due to accelerating melting of the Greenland ice sheet and Labrador Sea ice which is the main cause of the slowing Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC). We live in highly interesting times to say the least. Via John Scheve

Interconnected crises - climate change, biodiversity loss & pollution- require a paradigm change in the way we approach our relationship with Nature. Inequality is at the heart of the growing crises globally. @GhoshAmitav puts it very well.
Humans, ignorant and arrogant of the natural world, cannot understand this.
Human society creates many such people.

New Mexico has seen around 7 million acres burned by wildfires since 2000. Now the state is trying to restore those forests and running into a problem nobody planned for.
There are not enough suitable seedlings.
The nursery infrastructure wasn’t built for losses at this scale. So New Mexico is building its own solution. The New Mexico Reforestation Center is growing native seedlings matched to the local soil, climate, and altitude.
It takes years to grow a seedling ready for planting. The forests that burned took centuries to develop.
This is what thoughtful, science-based forest restoration looks like. We’re losing forests faster than we can replant them, and seedling capacity is a real bottleneck. That’s the reality in 2026.

As we will soon see, climate disasters will become more severe.
Can living organisms cope with these drastic climate changes?
Is this a gift from today's foolish adults to the children of the future?
The time for maintaining the status quo has passed.

A highly advanced brain dominated by desire.
Can we ignore a trillion-gallon time bomb of wastewater from oilfields? The current drought is increasing due to desperate energy use, and the success of PV is just a trap that keeps us in continuous energy use in the hope that the solution is here. We just need to keep doing things wrong until we do it better?!

With temperatures far exceeding 1.5°C and approaching 2°C, do humans really think this rise will stop?
They continue to use vast amounts of energy and consume goods, desperately trying to satisfy their own desires.
The future is only getting worse.
